Day 9: Too big

Aunty Bina had the most wonderful shoe cupboard.

She was my mother's friend, barely five feet tall, always in a sari. I remember the smell of spices in her home, the tin of Pan Parag and its tiny pink spoon.
But mostly, I remember her shoes. Heels. Sandals. Loafers. Flats.
I'd slip my little feet into them and parade around her house.
They were always too big.
I didn't mind.
I was having too much fun trying them on.
The Loose Thread: When did we start needing things to fit before we'd try them?
